Write back if this is not clear enough. If you are using stock Fender
pickups with a reverse wound/reverse polarity middle pickup (to give that
cool 2nd and 4th position sound), your pickups are probably wire coded
like this (looking at them mounted in the pickguard with the neck side to
your left:

Neck p/u mid p/u Bridge p/u

blue white blue

whitered white

and the switch is something like: 1
2
3
4
5
6

7

8
The numbers are the lugs counting from top to bottom.
>From the pickups, the two blue and one red wire are grounded together to
the volume pot. The white neck wire goes to lug #6. The white mid wire
goes to lug #4. The white bridge wire goes to lug #2. Lugs 8 and 1 should
be tied together with a short jumper wire and then connected to the #1 lug
on the volume pot (counting from left to right as the lugs point
downward). Lugs 3 and 5 are also tied together and wired to the center lug
of the lower tone pot. I’m working off an American Standard wiring
diagram, so I assume this is correct. Good luck!

Buy the Book!

I cleaned up my tab for Sonny Boy's Help Me and made it into a short book. There's a Kindle version for 99 cents, and if you buy the paperback you get the Kindle free.
