: Hi;
: Can anyone help me here with my soldering techniqe(s)?
: I recently made a find of an old (late 70’s early 80’s) solid state
Japanese radio that has about a dozen JRC 4558D chips in it. I do not want
to kill ’em as I try to un-solder them from the board. They are not
connected by a chip socket, but hard soldered. I have a dual watt solder
station (20W or 40W) and need to know just how much heat to apply, how long
and any other “how to” that will help me successfully extract these chips .
Any & all help(s) appreciated!

: Thank You In Advance!

voodoo mojo crap in this industry that has everyone looking under rocks for
these chips is insane!

NJM4558D is an *ABSOLUTLY IDENTICAL CHIP* and is available from mouser for a
whopping 22 cents! don’t believe me that it’s the same? spend a buck & buy
four of them & try for yourself.

Buy the Book!

I cleaned up my tab for Sonny Boy's Help Me and made it into a short book. There's a Kindle version for 99 cents, and if you buy the paperback you get the Kindle free.
